    Brew water is a dense and, at times, distracting topic in speciality coffee. However, its importance in creating nuanced, interesting and delicious brews is beyond doubt.



    BWT’s Water Filter Jug provides an accessible and reliable way of transforming your tap water, which varies enormously depending on where you are in the country and the world, into brew water that’s free of taste and odour taints, as well as better optimising it for brewing delicious coffee.


    Lightly softening your brew water, its magnesium mineralised water filter cartridges also exchange calcium ions for magnesium ions. The addition of magnesium in your brewing water is purported to increase the perception of sweet and fruity characteristics in your brewed coffee.


    At 2.7 litres in volume, this jug allows you to filter 120 litres of water per cartridge, with its LCD display offering a visual reminder of when to change the filter.
