We’ve seen an almost insatiable appetite for Wilfa grinders since we became the first UK distributor in 2016, as it offers home brewers such great grind quality for an astonishingly low price. It was the first time that we were happy to stand behind an electric grinder and recommend it as a viable – not to mention accessible – option. Since then, more and more people have been enjoying freshly ground coffee at home and at the push of a button. 

Wilfa have recently added another more specialised string to their bow, targeting an even more discerning audience with the release of their Wilfa Uniform grinder. 

First of all, this counter top grinder boasts a hefty set of 58mm stainless steel flat burrs. Compared to a conical burr set, large flat burrs are capable of grinding coffee beans more uniformly (hence the name) and this results in more even extraction across your coffee grounds. The Uniform therefore allows the flavour in your cup to gain a that bit more clarity, poise and sweetness, and also makes brewing that little bit more forgiving. 

It also does something the Svart does not: grinds fine enough for espresso. The high torque, low speed motor enables more dense, light roasted coffee to be ground easily, without heating up in the process and potentially losing some of the more delicate aromatics.

Incredibly minimalist and sturdy, the Wilfa Uniform, the grinder also houses a single button on its front that means you don’t even need to press stop. It will simply detect when the last beans have passed through its burrs and stop for you.
