Story

During the week, our Holborn Coffeebar is bursting at the seams serving great coffee to thirsty workers in The City. Over the quieter weekends we will be opening our doors to inquisitive coffee lovers, running both our Home Brewing Masterclass, and our Introduction to Espresso and Milk.

Curious coffee fans will be given the opportunity to step into the marble horseshoe bar and get hands-on with our professional equipment, learning techniques from our best and brightest. An Introduction to Espresso and Milk will cover how to dial-in espresso, pull tasty shots, steam milk to be glossy and velvety, or plush and pillowy, and even cover the basics of the ever-elusive latte art.

Throughout the session we'll attempt to dispel a few myths and break down some barriers surrounding the supposed magical skills of the barista. Time will be spent introducing coffee as an ingredient, tasting espresso, learning how to troubleshoot and amend your recipe or technique to improve flavours in the cup, plus becoming more confident in texturing and pouring great milk.

If you’ve ever wanted to try your hand at making espresso and other espresso-based drinks in a professional cafe, then this is the course for you. Attendees go home with a 250g bag of coffee and qualify for an exclusive offer for our coffee subscription service
