Opening a physical space is never just about opening a door.

For us, Workshop Cafe & Academy represents a return to something fundamental, a place where coffee can be experienced in its most tangible form. A space to drink, to learn, to talk, and to reconnect with the craft that has defined Workshop since 2011.

After months of planning, designing, building, and refining, we’re proud to open the doors on Eccleston Street, Belgravia.

A return to hospitality

Workshop began as a roastery with cafes over 15 years ago. In that time, our focus shifted toward building a world-class roasting operation and supplying exceptional coffee to homes and wholesale partners around the world.

But we’ve always believed that coffee is best understood when it’s shared.

A cafe offers direct connection, conversation. A sensory experience and a chance to taste coffee at its peak. For us, this is led by Head Barista and Lead Trainer Slava Babych, former World Cezve Ibrik Champion, alongside General Manager José Cortes, formerly of The Fat Duck Group. Their combined experience brings both depth and approachability to the guest experience, shaping a cafe defined not by pretence, but by exceptional coffee delivered with genuine hospitality.

The Coffee offering is a direct translation of what you know and love about Workshop:

Seasonal single origin coffees
House Espresso
Rotating filter options brewed to order
Pinnacle releases
Simple, thoughtful food

The location

Eccleston Street felt right immediately.

A historic street in Belgravia with a strong sense of neighbourhood, independent retail, and a growing food and drink culture. Close to Victoria Station and Eccleston Yards, yet calm, walkable, and characterful.

We wanted a place that served locals, commuters, visitors, and the surrounding business community, without feeling transient. And we believe we'll be a cafe that becomes part of daily routines.

Designing the space

The design of the space reflects Workshop’s refined visual identity, developed in collaboration with George Cosby Studio and implemented by 3Stories. It draws on the same principles now seen across our packaging: single-origin coffees presented in terracotta, house blends in Workshop’s signature green, and a visual language rooted in restraint, clarity, and craft.

Premium hospitality references, a modern London sensibility, and a dedication to quality underpin every decision. The result is a space that feels timeless and grounded - warm rather than showy, considered rather than busy - allowing the coffee, the people, and the experience to take centre stage.

Alongside the cafe sits the academy: a purpose-built training and education space, acoustically considered, flexible, and equipped for everything from beginner brewing sessions to professional barista training.

Two connected spaces. One shared philosophy.

The role of the Academy

Education has always sat at the heart of Workshop.

We work closely with producers. We obsess over processing, harvest timing, roast development, and brewing variables. But knowledge only becomes powerful when it’s shared.

The Academy exists to:

Train baristas and hospitality teams
Host public tastings and workshops
Run professional certifications
Create a space for curiosity

It’s a place where people can deepen their understanding of coffee, regardless of experience level. Whether you’re making your first pour-over at home or managing a multi-site coffee programme, the Academy is designed to support growth.
