Saravá Festive Espresso – Brazil
Honeycomb, currants, hazelnut. Creamy and warming.
Our third year working with small-scale growers in Bahia's Chapada Diamantina region brings this comforting Brazilian blend. Thirty families contribute to this lot, growing Mundo Novo and Catuaí cultivars between 900 and 1,300 metres.
Mechanically washed and slowly dried with residual mucilage, Saravá delivers the softness, creamy body and brown sugar sweetness we seek in Brazilian coffee. Less brightness than our washed selections, more synergy in milk drinks. The kind of espresso that works beautifully when the weather turns cold.
Perfect for those long, dark mornings and cosy afternoon breaks.
Muchagara Festive Filter – Kenya
Winey, damsons, clove. Piquant and spiced.
Four years into our relationship with the Baragwi Farmers' Co-operative Society, this lot from Muchagara factory stood out for its festive character. Winey fruit notes meet warming spice – damsons, clove, hints of nutmeg.
Around 1,600 smallholders contribute cherries to Muchagara, predominantly SL34 cultivar with pockets of SL28, Batian and Ruiru 11. Depulped and fermented for 36-48 hours in tiled tanks, fully washed with river water, then dried on raised beds.
The Baragwi FCS operates on ten guiding principles including ecosystem conservation, ecological restoration, and providing refuge for native wildlife on farms. They focus on soil and water conservation, using organic matter to enrich the land whilst minimising chemical use through informed intercropping.
Quality coffee with genuine environmental commitment.
