Good things come in small packages.

What excites us most about sourcing coffee is its ability to transport you. A great cup speaks to its origins—the land, the climate, and the people behind it. We seek out coffees with a fresh, clean character that reflect their cultivar, terroir, and journey.

For the past 14 years, our sourcing philosophy has evolved, but our commitment to relationship coffee remains constant. Whether it’s selecting a blend component for our Perennial range—Legacy or Article—or curating a seasonal single-origin release like Gitesi from Aime in Rwanda or Raro Boda from Snap in Ethiopia, we look for clarity, sweetness, and vibrancy in every lot.

Introducing Pinnacle

Drinking coffee is about discovery—the small details that shift your perception and expand your palate. Our Pinnacle range was created to showcase those exceptional, limited-lot coffees that don’t fit into our core offering but deserve to be experienced. These are micro-lots that express something truly special, whether it’s a rare cultivar, an experimental process, or a strikingly unique flavour profile.

With each Pinnacle release, we highlight these extraordinary coffees with a vibrant, saturated label design, mirroring their intensity and character. Some lots are as small as a single 24kg vacuum-packed brick or a single 69kg sack. They’re fleeting but unforgettable—ideal for sharing with a fellow coffee obsessive or exploring the outer reaches of coffee’s flavour spectrum for yourself.

Launched in the summer of 2024, our Pinnacle range has featured three distinctive releases so far.

Pinnacle V.1 – Luis Aníbal Calderón, Colombia

A Queen Gesha mutation from Luis Aníbal Calderón, naturally processed with precision—something rarely seen at Workshop. This lot delivered intensity and concentration beyond anything else we cupped in 2024, with an exceptionally large screen size and an explosive flavour profile.

Flavours: Potent, playful, and concentrated. Expect a wealth of complex fruity and floral notes—kesar mango, fuzzy peach candies, pear drops, and cream soda.

Pinnacle V.2 – Carlos Luis Guzman, Ecuador

A humble Caturra cultivar, elevated through meticulous fermentation. This lot demonstrated just how much impact careful processing can have on sweetness and clarity in the cup.

Flavours: Juicy and sweet with a crisp acidity. Brimming with syrupy tinned fruit flavours—mandarin, pineapple, and peach.

Pinnacle V.3 – Alina Milagros Solona, Peru

Our latest release departs from Colombia and lands in Peru, showcasing an exquisite Gesha cultivar grown at an astounding 2,400 metres on Alina Milagros Solona’s farm, Inka Tranca, in Tablahuasi. As part of the Valle Inca association—whom we’ve worked with for seven years—Alina follows a precise anaerobic fermentation process, followed by washing and slow drying on shaded raised beds. The result is a pristine expression of the Gesha variety, with a floral elegance and refined acidity shaped by the high-altitude terroir.

Alina is a young producer, managing her farm with a dedication that extends beyond her own work—collaborating with neighbours through ‘Mingas’ (communal reciprocity) and honouring the principle of ‘Ayni’ (today for you, tomorrow for me). The result is a farm rooted in tradition and innovation, yielding a coffee that is both delicate and dynamic.

Flavours: Incredibly scented and elegant, with a refined sweetness and creamy body. Vanilla and lavender aromas complement peach yoghurt and honey.

Pinnacle is about more than just rare coffee; it’s about recognising and celebrating craft, skill, and terroir. These lots come and go quickly, but their impact lingers—each cup a reminder of coffee’s boundless potential.
